About Us

The Fairbanks Community Band, Inc. proudly sponsors wind and percussion ensembles for local musicians, including a traditional concert band, a jazz band, a summer youth band, and myriad other small groups. Our ensembles regularly perform free public concerts and actively participate in various community events such as the 4th of July gala, Golden Days parade, the Tanana Valley Fair, and Honor Flight receptions. Our band is comprised of members from diverse backgrounds, representing all walks of life. Among our members, you will find teachers, lawyers, physical therapists, writers, handymen, electricians, and seismologists. We truly embody the spirit of community! If you played an instrument in school but life got in the way after graduation, marriage, or a move, we warmly welcome you! Most of our members are not professional musicians but rather dedicated community members who share a love for making music together. It's never too late to reignite your musical passion. Many of our members have returned to playing after 10, 20, or even 30 years. Join us and rediscover the joy of playing music in a supportive and inclusive environment.
